An Open Letter to Lowtax

This has also been sent to lowtax@somethingawful.com and webmaster@somethingawful.com. It's in response to this post.

I'm not RATF but I do have a question. I'll be brief; I'm sure you look forward to wasting my time so I won't waste too much of yours.

GBS is the base forum at SA, the most-trafficked & mainstream of them all, and its users provide many a Photoshop and funny story for your site features. GBS also yields the most bans, which on SA are a probable source of income.

FYAD, your favorite forum, degrades and abuses GBSers at every turn. As part of FYAD, so do you.

Now I don't expect you to respect everyone, but to outright insult and/or ban the majority of your userbase because they don't meet 'yad standards - this seems to defy the point of an all-purpose "General Bullshit" forum that accepts all comers.

Unless GBS is simply a farm for ban money and cost-free comic material.

If that's the case, why not just say so? Maybe then you'll get the respect you so richly (no pun intended) deserve.
